It was a day chilly but somewhat sunny day as I started out on the rail trail and ended up at the Forest River estuary for more exploring. I read that you can access Salem Woods through the conservation, and there is a dormant volcano (Eagle Hill) at Forest River as well! (Really!) So, I went in search of Eagle Hill by bike, and well... I ended up hiking quite a bit with the 29er on my back. Carrying the bike up the steep, rocky terrain was a challenge -- but climbing down was even tougher. I ran out of time after climbing Eagle Hill and had to hustle home -- never locating the access point to Salem Woods. I still have more exploring to do.
