Another missed opportunity for a decent ride today. (Sigh.) We had a gorgeous day and I didn't have a lot on the agenda today, (the boys didn't have school today), which meant I could get in some miles this afternoon. After Caro, Rebecca and Zane headed up to Gloucester to check out the ride course, I drove to Beverly to start my ride there (which I often do to avoid the craziness of Salem). Unfortunately, it took nearly a half an hour to get through Salem. (Fridays are insane.)
As soon as I unloaded my bike in Beverly, I discovered I left my cycling shoes at home! Arghhhh!!! I hate it when that happens!! I had no choice but to turn around and head home and settle for a shorter ride through Marblehead.
In hindsight, it was probably fortuitous that I was forced to turn around. Will texted at 3:30 to say he needed to be at the football field at 4:00. Luckily, I was less than 20 minutes away this time. Another crazy day.
