I'm squeezing in one more ride event on the calendar -- the Ride for Angels, supporting Angel Flight Northeast on Sunday, September 8th (along with other riders from SpiderOne Racing). I wasn't planning to ride this one, but coach Shayne was pulling together a team of Spiders... and he's probably planning to have me ride the mileage that day anyway... so there you go. I'm not really adding a burden to the schedule since that time is already blocked out! Right?
Angel Flight NE is a non-profit providing free air transportation for anyone needing access to medical care that can't otherwise afford the costs. It's a fantastic organization -- and it really wasn't a hard sell to get me to sign on.
It sounds like most of the Spiders are riding the 44 mile route, but I'm in it for 65. I still have the 100 mile Seacoast Century coming up in 3 weeks, our annual Seaglass Ride in memory of Cyclopath Sue deVries on October 5th, and then the Undefeated/EOD Ride out in San Diego the following week. (All of this interspersed with football practices, games, an afternoon lost in a corn maze, and Mike's projected half marathon.) The calendar is full!
(I'm still actively fundraising for the Undefeated/EOD Ride and I'm getting close to my goal. Many, many thanks for all of the support you've given me -- I'm so very grateful.)
