It's been a hectic week and I've had to squeeze in my rides whenever I could. Today I had to scoot up to Maine for an art association meeting at 11 -- and planned to skip my ride altogether and make up for it tomorrow -- but remembered it was Sheldon's 80th birthday!! I couldn't miss riding with him today, of all days!!! I touched base with him Friday night and learned he wanted to head to the Beverly airfield, (as he did last week). So knowing that, I tossed my bike into the back of the highlander at 6:15 a.m. and drove to the airport -- parked the car -- and then biked back to Salem for our Cyclopath start. He was surprised to see me and it was a great way to celebrate his birthday. My morning was a crazy rush -- and I ended up driving 80 mph up I-95 to get to Maine on time -- but I'm so glad I rode. That hour ride with Sheldon was the best part of my day. You only turn 80 once!
